(ii) It does not produce smoke or other residues and so the environment does not get polluted. (iii) When food is cooked in a solar cooker, all the nutrients are retained as it cooks food at a very low temperature. Disadvantages : (i) lt does not work without suniight. Hence, on a cloudy day. it becomes useless. (ii) The places where the days are too short or places with cloud covers round the year have limited utility for a solar cooker. (iii) As the drection of the sun changes with respect to theearth, the direction of REFLECTION of the solar cooker has to be changed accordingly.
