| Answer» The battle of Buxar was fought b/w the English and joint forces of Mir Qasim, Shuja-ud-Daulah and Emperor Shah Alam 2nd to defeat the British. The major cause of this battle was the conflict b/w Mir Qasim and the British. The British introduced a system of dual government according to which the Nawab would be responsible for the administration and the revenue of the land would be collected by the British. The company used this money to increase and promote their trade and not for the improvement of Bengal. This Battle of Buxar was fought in 1764 AD. | |
