It is bounded by the Maikal range in the North, Aravallis in the North-West, Hazaribagh and Rajmahal Hills in the North-East, the Eastern Ghats in the East and the Western Ghats in the West.\xa0India\xa0is divided into six\xa0physiographic divisions\xa0on basis of the varied\xa0physiographic\xa0features: units as follows: Northern and North-eastern Mountain; Northern Plain; Peninsular Plateau;\xa0Indian\xa0Desert; Coastal Plains; and Islands. | |
