What did liberalism stands for middle class in Europe |
| Answer» The word "liberalism" derived from the "Latin word ‘liber\'", which means "freedom". The concept of liberalism was born in the middle class. The "middle class" had a "free-thinking mentality" and the "ideas of nationalism" led them to put an end to the gap existing between "aristocracy and other classes". They wanted to form a national government of the people which treated everyone equally. Although liberalism popularised the idea of a people’s government, not everyone had the right to vote. For example: In France, "women" are inferior to "men". | |
