What happens when a ray of light is incident normal to the interface between two media? Draw the corresponding neat and labelled diagram.

Answer»

Solution :When a RAY of LIGHT is incident normal to the INTERFACE between two MEDIA, the ray propagates undeviated as it travelsfrom the first medium to the second medium irrespective of the refractive indices of the two media. In this case, the angle of incidence ( i) is zero and so also the angle of REFRACTION ( r) .
