What is blood vessels |

Answer» Blood vessels\xa0are the channels or conduits through which\xa0blood\xa0is distributed to body tissues. The\xa0vessels\xa0make up two closed systems of tubes that begin and end at the heart. One system, the pulmonary\xa0vessels, transports\xa0blood\xa0from the right ventricle to the lungs and back to the left atrium \tBlood vessels are the tube like structures which carry the blood through cells, tissues and organs.\tTwo types of blood vessels are arteries and veins which are connected to the heart for transporting blood.\tArteries –\tCarry blood rich in oxygen from the heart to all the cells of the body.\tThe pressure exerted by the arteries while blood leave heart is rapid and thus wall walls of arteries are thick.\tVeins –\tVeins carry blood rich in carbon di oxide from all the cells of the body to the heart.\tThe pressure exerted by the walls of the veins is less and have thin walls.\tValves present in the veins ensure that the blood flows only towards the heart. |
