| Answer» Federalism is a system of government in which power is divided between the central authority and various constituent units of the country.Its key features are:1.There are two or more tiers of the govt.2.Different tiers of the govt.rule the same citizen but they have their own jurisdiction.3.The jurisdiction of the respective tiers of the govt.are specified in the constitution.4.The fundamental provision of the constitution cannot be unilaterally changed by one level of the govt.5.Courts have the power to interpret the constitution and the powers of different levels of the govt.6.Sources of revenue for each level of govt.are specified to ensure its financial autonomy.7.It has dual objectives:to safeguard and promote unity of the country and accomodate regional diversity. | |
