1. Can be REPRESENTED by same general formula.
2. Can be prepared by same method.
3. Have same (almost) chemical properties.
it should be noted that on seeing the molecular formulae of different members we find that the SUCCESSIVE members differ by `-CH_(2)` unit. Similarly on seeing theirmolecular WEIGHTS we find that the successive members differ by 14 units.
