What is khilafat movement? Who organised this movement

Answer» At first this movement was known as non - cooperation movement... In which Gandhi ji said... If the people of India will not cooperate the British rules then britishers will leave our country so Gandhi ji started non- cooperation movement... In this movement Gandhi ji thought that every one should participate in this movement... But it was too difficult to get together Hindus and Muslims.... So he talked to the famous Muslim politicians of that time.... And he changed the name of nob - cooperation movement to non - cooperation khilafat movement......
The first world war ended with the defeat of Ottoman turkey. There were rumars that harsh treaty was going to imposed on Ottoman emperor. This angered the Muslims in India. The ali brothers- Shaukat ali and Mohammad ali launched this movement .
It was a movement against the harsh policy made by European power to limit the power of their religious head khalifa. It was led by various persons . The two brothers Muhammed ali and shaukat ali requested Gandhi to launch a movement hence the non-cooperation khilafat movement was led in 1921
