He criticized about the practices of the Roman Catholic church in his theises and pasted it on the church door challenging the church to debate about it. Within few weeks 5000 copies were sold reaching the common people. In the year of 1517, Martin Luther wrote the novel The Ninety Five These. He wrote it against the contemporary practice of the church with respect to indulgences.
