What is the irony of the poem Not Marble nor the gilded monuments

Answer» The irony of this poem was that not the gilded monuments and statue is shone everlasting.t he human glory and pomp end one day.Shakespeare conveys that it was her sonnet 15 which was exist till the posterity
The irony of the poem is that building monuments ,with stones or gold plated never makes a person remember about him/her ,else his work do so even after his/her death
The irony lies in the fact that , whilst most may consider gilded or marble monuments to be strong , in reality they are not . After a few years, they wither , deteriorate and eventually turn into ruins . The words of famous men like , like Shakespeare \'s poetry , last forever . Even after his death , people still read it and talk about it . Ironically , the poem has outlived both man and monument and will continue to do so.........?
