It was expanded to the region under his control later on such as in the Dutch republic , Switzerland and much of the Italy . It abolished the feudal system and freed peasants from serfdom and manorial dues. Civil code of 1804 is issued by Napoleon Bonaparte and it is also known as Napoleonic code . It has taken away all the privileges based on birth , established equality before the law and secured the right to property . It was firt introduced in France under Napoleon .
