| Answer» On 13 April1919 people gathered inJallianwalla Bagh in Amritsar to celebrate Baisakhi.Some of them were Protesting against the Rowlett Act.Gen Dyer blocked the gates and opened fire,killing hundreds.This was opposed by Indians all over the country.There were strikes,clashes with police and attack on govt buildings.The govt started brutal repression killing thousands of people all over India.Seeing violence spread Mahatma Gandhi called off his satyagrah movement. | |
