What will happen if in a compound microscope , the objective lens is large in size and has a focal length ?

Solution :If the objective lens of a compound microscope is large in SIZE, in ADDITION to the light coming from an ojbect , other unwanted light will be incident on the objective lens. Hence , the IMAGE will not be seen clearly. If the objective lens has a large focal length, the MAGNIFICATION produced by it will be LESS.
