Why the coastal areas have a moderate climate throughout the year?

Answer» Water in the water bodies i.e.in oceans or seas takes\xa0longer to heat or cool down as compared to the land .So we see that the range of temperature (difference between the maximum and the minimum temperatures)is very less. Thus, the coastal areas experience moderate climate because temperatures do not rise very high or fall down too much due to the moderating effect of water in the water bodies.
Coastal areas will generally have more moderate temperatures than inland areas because of the heat capacity of the ocean. ... Therefore, areas near the ocean generally stay cooler during the day and have a more moderate temperature range than inland areas.
