Answer» Mrs. Hall was upset because the stranger had snubbed her earlier and behaved very rudely with her. The stranger upon understanding her annoyance told her that what he couldn\'t tell her earlier because of being tired was that he was an experimental investigator. He also told her that he didn\'t want to disturb in any way during his experiments and that his luggage which was to arrive from Bramblehurst station had his extremely important apparatuses.
