Due to chauri chaura incident where 22 policeman were burnt alive , Mahatma Gandhi decided to withdraw a movement. He felt that movement was turning violent in many places and Satyagrahis needed to be trained properly for mass movement.
Because:◆ a clash took place at Chauri Chaura in Uttar Pradesh. ◆ Gandhiji felt the movement was turning violent in many places. ◆ A group of volunteers picketing a liquor shop were beaten up by a police officer.
It was withdrawn in 1922 not in 1992..
