Economic development of Rajasthan is a mixed and positive result of various types of economic activities. Although Rajasthan’s economy is basically agriculture and village based, it is also famous for the ample reserves of marble, copper, zinc and salt deposits. For the promotion of economic development, the industrial department in the state is working for the inclusion of industrial activities, and the work of providing guidance, support and facilities is being done. 

Currently, 36 District Industry Centers and 7 Sub Centers are working in the State to provide industries other necessary facilities and assistance to the people. New investment promotion policy has been issued to promote economic development in Rajasthan. In order to promote industry in the state, the government has made significant efforts to encourage private investment. This is only possible through the Convention of industrialists. 

One such convention “Resurgent Rajasthan” took place on 19th and 20th of November 2015 in Jaipur. In this convention many industrialists from different countries participated. In this conference, investment treaties of trillions of rupees between the industrialists and the Rajasthan government were made for capital investment in Rajasthan. Once these investments are successful, Rajasthan will become a leading state in terms of industry.
