Solution :Two harmful effects of using plastic BAGS on the ENVIRONMENT are :
(i) Since plastic bags are non-biodegradable so they REMAIN in soil for a very long time making it unsuitable for vegetation.
(ii) On burning, they release very toxic chemicals in the AIR.
(III) Sometimes animals ingest these and may choke to death e.g., cows, fishes etc. Other alternatives for plastic bags can be cloth bags, jute bags or canvas bags.
