Speech about "my hobbies"

Answer»

I stuttered severely. At the age of 22 I was videotaped at a spech clinic, reading aloud alone. My speech (in this minimally stressful situation) was ten times slower than normal speech. In more stressful environments I could block on a word for five minutes or more. My speech was ALSO difficult to understand. I completed seven stuttering therapy program with little or no effect on my speech. In 1992 I was unable to find a permanent job, despite having an MBA. While working as a temp a telephone malfunctioned and delayed my voice to his ear a fraction of a second. I recognized this delayed auditory feedback(DAF) as similar to an electronic device I had tried in a speech clinic a year earlier. I was able to use the DAF to speak fluently on that telephone call, and with improved fluency the rest of the day. When the job ended I built a DAF telephone device for myself, which I then used to speak fluently on telephone calls and for carryover fluency the rest of the day.I then built ADDITIONAL DAF telephone devices for FRIENDS in a stuttering support group. I stopped looking for a job and instead worked full time improving the anti-stuttering devices, which I sold under the company name Casa Futura Technologies. In addition to developing and patenting the first anti-stuttering telephone device, I was the first to build anti-stuttering devices combining DAF with frequency-shifted auditory feedback (FAF) and masking auditory feedback (MAF) to increase effectiveness. I also developed and patented a vocal tension biofeedback feature that monitors a user's voice and adjusts auditory feedback to not only induce immediate fluency but also to train carryover fluency so that the user no longer needs the device. Casa Futura Technologies devices are now used at thousands of speech clinics, schools, and other institutions. Many states provide the devices free to qualified residents.I am the author of two books about stuttering, Stuttering: SCIENCE, Therapy & Practice (1998) and No Miracle Cures: A Multifactorial Guide to Stuttering Therapy (2006). I am a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. I also studied transpersonal counseling psychology at Naropa University and authored the book Hearts and Minds: How Our Brains Are Hardwired for Relationships. My hobbies include competitve running. Highlights include the 13th place (3rd in age group) in the 1998 Portland Marathon (2:38, PR), 12th place in the RRCA National Marathon

Essay on save the girl, educate the girl

Answer»

India celebrated national girl child day on January 24 ..but still girl child remains uncherished as ever ,more in punjab which had worst sex ratios in the country.. Discrimination against girl child is widespread in the state that even her health is not a priority. According to information gathered under RTI act ,number of girl CHILDREN taken to treatment to hospitals in punjab is atleast 25%lower than boys.in some district s the situation is more dismal ,revealing deep rooted bias against daughters.it is shocking that even in 21st century girls are not treated on a par with boys and denied basic needs such as a proper healthcareThe government and societe have been trying to fight gender bias through various schemes ..in punjab initiative s like SGPC's nanhi chhaon and govt schemes like balri rakshak yojna ,a WELFARE scheme for cause of the girl child ,may have made some headway in denting prejudices. Still ,by and large ,the obbession for the male child shows little signs of abating ..with this abdominable practice of female foeticide is still rampant ,bias againstvthe female child persists in many other ways and has affected the nutritional status of girl childIt is imperiative that policies lay greater emphasis on the girl's health care ..indeed,there is need to go beyond tokenism..observing national girl child day may seem SIGNIFICANT but will not be able to transform patriachal mindsets that continue to value sons over daughters ...what is needed is a movement against female foeticide ..while society has to be wake up to menace of female foeticide and redress the gender imbalance, parents too much learn to cherish and value their daughters as much as sons.daughters must not onlt be given the right to livr but also must have given equal rights, including right to a healthy life .PLZZZZZZ mark me as best

26.

You are the cultural secretary of your institutions.write a report in 250 words of a meeting held to discuss the forthcoming annual day celebration.

Answer» i am writing the format

Title Section - If the report is short, the front cover can include any information that you feel is necessary including the author(s) and the date prepared. In a longer report, you may want to include a table of contents and a definitions of terms.Summary - There needs to be a summary of the major points, conclusions, and recommendations. It needs to be short as it is a general overview of the report. Some PEOPLE will read the summary and only skim the report, so make sure you include all the RELEVANT information. It would be best to write this last so you will include everything, even the points that might be added at the last minute.Introduction - The first page of the report needs to have an introduction.  You will explain the problem and show the reader why the report is being made. You need to give a definition of terms if you did not include these in the title section, and explain how the details of the report are ARRANGED.  Body - This is the main section of the report. The previous sections needed to be written in plain English, but this section can include jargon from your industry. There needs to be several sections, with each having a subtitle.  Information is usually arranged in order of importance with the most important information coming first. If you wish, a “Discussion” section can be included at the end of the Body to go over your findings and their significance. Conclusion - This is where everything comes together. Keep this section free of jargon as most people will read the Summary and Conclusion.       Recommendations - This is what needs to be done. In plain English, explain your recommendations, putting them in order of priority.Appendices - This includes information that the experts in the field will read. It has all the TECHNICAL details that support your conclusions. This report writing format will make it easier for the reader to find what he is looking for. Remember to write all the sections in plain English, except for the Body. ALSO remember that the information needs to be organized logically with the most important information coming first.

Answer»

I will tell you a STORY of my friend Monty Roberts.

As he was a kid, his father as a horse trainer was moving from stable to stable, from RANCH to ranch, training horses. Thus, the boy‘s school career was constantly interrupted. One day, when he was a senior, teacher asked him to write about what he wanted to be when he grew up. He did not hesitate a MINUTE and wrote seven-page paper about his aim to be an OWNER of a horse ranch, he wrote many details and drew a location of buildings and stables and even a detailed house plan.

Two days later he received his paper back with letter „F“ on the front page. After class he came to teacher and asked: „Why did I receive an F?“. The teacher responded: „This dreams is so unrealistic for a boy like you, who has no money, no resources and who comes from itinerant family. There is no possibility that you will reach your great goals one day.“ Then the teacher offered to rewrite the paper with more realistic attitude.

The boy went home and asked his father, how should he act. The father answered: „This DECISION is very important for you. So you have to make your own mind on this“.

After several days the boy brought the same paper to his teacher. No changes were made. He said: „Keep the F and I will keep my dream“.

the boy has now a  good mansion in europe

Remember, you have to follow your heart and never let anyone to steal your dreams.

SCHOOL IN VILLAGE AND TELL THE PEOPLES OF THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN LIFE. WE WILL MAKE THEM ABLE TO STUDY AND ABLE TO READ AND WRITE BECAUSE EDUCATION IS THE ONLY WAY OF SUCCESS. Pls a speech on environment!!!!!!!!

Answer»

Environment is the source of life. It not only directs but also determines the existence, growth and development of human beings and all their activities. The quality of our social life depends mostly on the quality of the natural environment.Primitive man was solely dependent for its existence (food, water and shelter, etc.) on the environment around him. From geographical point of view, environment includes the entire range of external influences—both physical and biological—that affects the life and death of an organism. It is the force of nature in the form of physical, climatic and biotic factors. This spatial aspect of the environment is studied in details by geographers. Sociologists are not DIRECTLY concerned with the spatial aspect of the environment. But they do study environment (natural) to the extent that it affects the individual’s activities and society. Sociologists use the term ‘environment’ in a wider perspective to include social, cultural, economical and historical and geographical environment.Society is but one component of human life and is never independent of environment; instead, there is a complex interactive process among organization (society), population, technology and environment. A society is the organization of a population but the size and characteristics of any population depend upon the sustaining environment.Society is playing a vital role in spoiling, denigrating and degeneration of environment. As such, it has become an important social problem to be studied by sociologists. Human actions have a direct impact on the ecosystem. These actions have brought immense changes in our planet earth that have resulted into many environmental problems. It is the impact of human beings on nature in the form of technology and industry that has created so many consequences which are social.Technology is the crucial FACTOR in the interaction of people with environment. It changes the terms and conditions of the interaction; it provides more sustenance and permits population to grow. The power of modern technology is immense and its indiscriminate use has altered the environment in ways unimagined only a few decades ago.It extends the human capacity to modify environment but its indiscriminate use is the root of an ecological crisis. Modem society itself is now utterly dependent on technical intervention and technological HARNESSING of the forces of nature. If this goes wrong in a serious way (as we are witnessing today), then, the consequences are likely to be correspondingly very serious. According to Milbrath (1989), ‘the technology that enabled the unprecedented economic growth of the 20th century has had a dramatic effect on our natural RESOURCES’.It has resulted into the following environmental problems:1. A rapid growth of world population.2. The depletion of natural resources such as:(a) shrinking of forests and wetlands,(b) erosion of soil and coral reefs,(c) depletion of underground water and severe shortage of fresh drinking water,(d) vanishing of plants, and(e) salinization in some countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Middle East.3. The depletion of living organism—loss of biodiversity, the rapidly extinction of many animal species, collapsing of fisheries, etc.4. The rising pollution of air and water.5. Rising of temperature (global warming and its disastrous effects).6. The thinning of the ozone layer.7. Poisoning of rivers, seas and underground resources.Until recently we exploited and changed the environment (and still changing and exploiting) without concern for the future, but extensive pollution and the destruction and depletion of natural resources will mean the destruction of ourselves or destruction of society.Even though science and technology have radically altered the terms of adaptation to the nature, we still need to adapt to the environment. Human society is embedded in an environment. We must not forget that the human being is first and FOREMOST an animal, sharing living space with other animal species in an environment on which they are mutually dependent. If we do not give attention to our environment, we are putting our own existence in grave peril. Not only this, we are spoiling the fate of our future generations also. People now have started realizing that the civilization that they have built for the last thousands of years may not survive more if some drastic steps are not taken immediately to save our environment from degradation.Fresh air, clean drinking water, natural gas, petroleum and the earth’s topsoil are all finite resources that will exhaust if we continue to exploit them at the present rate in the name of the development. As we deplete precious natural resources and degrade the environment, we also destroy its ability to rejuvenate itself.

Give me essay of science for building a nation

Answer»

Nation building matters to intractable to conflict When nation-building implies democratization, there is the further hypothesis known as the democratic peace hypothesis. Originally explicated by Immanuel Kant in the 17th CENTURY, the democratic peace hypothesis says that perpetual peace can be achieved by developing a federation or league of free republican nations. Representative democracies, organized in an INTERNATIONAL organization, would bring peace. Political scientists who have explored this hypothesis have focused on one of two versions: democracies don't make war against each other, or democracies don't initiate war at all. There is certainly evidence of the former, and some evidence of the latter. The other side of the coin is that nation-building may sometimes be simply another name for external intervention and the extension of empires. If it can be said that failed states are the cause of national, regional, or world SECURITY problems, or that human rights abuses  are so extensive that the NEED to overcome them in turn overcomes the traditional SOVEREIGNTY rights of states under international law, then intervention in the name of nation-building can be seen to be justified. Sometimes nation-building may simply be used as a justification for the expansion of imperial control. So nation-building matters, but what is meant by nation-building matters even more.
