Answer» 1.Co2 is base because it is oxide of non-metal and non metallic oxide are acidic in nature.2.NH3 is base because its nitrogen atom has an electron pair that readily accept proton.When we mix CO2 and NH3 in water,we get carbonic acid and ammonium hydroxide.
