Answer» When soap is dissolved in water it forms colloidal suspension. In this, the soap molecules cluster together to form micelles and remain radially suspended in water with hydrocarbon end towards centre and ionic end directed outward. The dirt particles always adhere to oil and grease present on clothes. When dirty cloth is dipped in solution,its hydrocarbon end of micelles attach to Greece and polar end remains in water. A stable emulsion of oil in water is formed. This globules bearing dirt gets washed out. Plzz tell fastly Ya though the micelles formation. |
