Are all the stars in the sky are actually there?? |
|
Answer» Light is not instantaneous. Sun is 150 million km away from the earth. And the light the sun gives off the photons doesn\'t reach us immediately.Actually it travels and takes a finite amount of time that is it takes 8 minutes to reach us.If you are looking at the sun than it is 8 minutes past sun.For example if sun went off then we would not understand for another 8 minutes. Now we will come to the point of the start. The closest star to earth after the sun is called Proxima Centauri and it is actually about 4 light years away light years it means light travels at the speed of 3 ×10^8 m/s takes about 4 years to reach us once it leaves the star.So some stars are actually not there. Are you mad or wht Yes. Stars are actually there but we all do not see there actual position, we see there apparent position due to the phenomenon of atmospheric refraction, just like if we put a pencil in water and observe from outside, we see the apparent position of the pencil.
