Answer» modern periodic table contains 18 vertical columns known as groups & 7 horizontal rows known as periods . elements in a group have the same no. of valence electrons & elements in a periods hve same no. of shells ,no. of shells increases as go down the group .no. of electrons placed in a particular periods depends upon the fact that how electrons filled in shells . The physical and chemical properties of the element are periodic function of their atomuc numbers, the number of protons or the number of electron present in the neutral atom of the element. |
