Difference between parallel and series circuit |
| Answer» Series circuit:\tAll components in a series circuit can be controlled by a single switch. This results in the closing down of all components when the switch is turned off.\tIn a series circuit, current through all the components remain the same.\tA series circuit stops working if any one of its component stops functioning. This happens due to an incomplete path of the current.Parallel circuit:\tIn a parallel circuit, all components require an individual switch. Hence, closing of any switch will not effect the functioning of other components.\tIn a parallel circuit, potential difference across the entire component remains the same.\tA parallel circuit continues to work even when any one of its component stops functioning. This happens because the current continues to flow through the other parts of the circuit. | |
