Difference between permanent magnet and electromagent |

Answer» Permanent magnet magnetic field is constant its magnetic power cant be increased or decreased whereas electromagnets are temporary amd their magnetic field and power can be increased or decreased. ●Permanent magnet :◆They are permanently magnetized.◆These are usually made of hard materials.\t◆The strength of the magnetic field line is constant i.e. it cannot be varied◆ The poles of a Permanent magnet cannot be changed. ◆Example of a permanent magnet is a Bar Magnet. ●Electromagnet : ◆These are temporarily magnetized.◆They are usually made of soft materials.◆The strength of the magnetic field lines can be varied according to our need.◆The poles of an electromagnet can be altered. ◆electromagnet is used in electric motors, electric bells etc. |
