DC generator has spilt ring commutator instead of spil rings. DC can be stored DC generator is used very large motor and DC generator has commuter with brushes and spil rings. DC generator used in small appliances and DC generator have only brushes and slip ring. Ac is used for long distance while dc used for short distance
