Different between matel and non matel |

Answer» Metal are hard and rigid,lustrous, ductile, highly mailable, high melting and boiling point whereas non metal are not METAL - a metal is a substance which form cation ( +ve ion ) by loosing electrons.It includes zinc, sodium,iron,calcium etc .... .. • they are good conductors of heat and electricity.• they are lustrous • they are generally hard but Na and K are soft • they form alloys like brass is an alloy of copper and zinc etc,. ........ ........ ... ......... . NON METAL - a non metal is a substance which form anion (- ve ions) by gaining electrons . It includes carbon, oxygen,sulphur, phosphorus, nitrogen............ • they are bad conductors of heat and electricity but graphite is a good conductor of electricity.• they are not lustrous .• they are generally soft but diamonds is hard etc 1. Metal has high electrostatic force that bind homo or hetro atoms together.but non metal has weak force .2. Metal react with sulphide but non metal not3. Metal has tendency to gain electron .while non metal has tendency to lose electron. |
