Differentiate between concave and convex lens |
| Answer» DIFFERENCE B/W CONCAVE AND CONVEX LENS:-1)Concave lens are thinner at middle and thicker at edges, while Convex lens are thicker at middle and thinner at edges. 2)Concave lenses are used in telescopes, photography and to cure myopiaetc., while Convex lenses are used in cameras, magnifying glass, microscope and to cure hypermytropia etc. 3)Concave lenses have negative focal length while convex lenses have positive focal length. 4)Concave lens are also known as diverging lens, while convex are also known as converging lens. 4)Concave lenses always form erect and vitual image, while convex lenses form real-inverted as well as erect-virtual. 5)Concave lenses diverges the incident ray coming parallel to principal axis, while convex lenses converges the incident ray coming parallel to principal axis. | |
