In electrolysis of water why the amount of hydrogen is double of the amount of oxygen.....??

Answer» During electrolysis of H2O
H2O (water)contains two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen.Due to which two molecules of H2 gas is produced at cathode and one molecule of O is produced at anode.
Because in H2O ,no. Of hydrogen atom is double of oxygen atom .Hence ,in electrolysis of water, the amount of hydrogen is double of the amount of oxygen..
