⇒ x = 3/7 or –5

From II,

4y²– 16y + 7 = 0

⇒ 4y²– 14y - 2y + 7 = 0

⇒ 2y(2y–1) –7(2y-1) = 0

⇒ (2y–1) (2y–7) = 0

Taking,

⇒ 2y – 1 = 0 or 2y – 7 = 0

⇒ y = 1/2 or y = 7/2
