⇒ x = 3/7 or 5

From II,

4y2 16y + 7 = 0

⇒ 4y2 14y - 2y + 7 = 0

⇒ 2y(2y1) 7(2y-1) = 0 

⇒ (2y1) (2y7) = 0

Taking, 

⇒ 2y – 1 = 0 or 2y – 7 = 0

⇒ y = 1/2 or y = 7/2
