Is hydrogen a metal or non metal |
|
Answer» ???????? I dont know weather it is correct or not please check i one time. After combining all the answers i got something like this Hydrogen is basically a rogue element, that does not fit in anywhere in this periodic table.Even though it has only 1 valence electron and should ideally be placed above the Alkali Metals Group (which it is), it is neither a metal, nor is it a solid like all other Alkali Metals in the group. Funnily enough, just like other Alkali Metals, it can also lose it’s valence electron and form an H+H+ ion! So, does that make it a metal??Think about it..Hydrogen also exhibits properties shown by Halogens like being a non-metal that forms a diatomic gas molecule and under certain circumstances, can accept an additional electron to form an anion, H−H−. Thus, it can very well be put under the Halogens group. So, there you have it..The curious case of the element Hydrogen..It is a non metallic gas, ?????????????? Hydrogen is a gaseous non metal. If it\'s wrong then plz tell me Yaar its very confusing because in ncert periodic table hydrogenis not attached which makes it different from other elements......????? It is non metal and has the similar properties as metal. Acc to NCERT TB it is non metal It is a non metal. It is a metalloid Physically it is a non metal but it is placed above the group in the periodic table because it has 1 electron configuration like other metals. But it forms H+ ions which is more reluctantly than other alkali metal |
