Answer» I also run XP/SP3, and unfortunately "upgraded" to IE8. I tried uninstalling through add/remove software and roll back to IE7, so did the GUYS at the computer repair PLACE when (through my own carelessness ) I GOT a virus (or 12). They said that they WOULD have had to uninstall the SP3, then uninstall IE8, reinstall 7, then reinstall the service pack, and still I might be stuck with 8, or have other problems. I checked the program list and it says IE7, but when I open it up it looks and acts like IE8. Guess I'm stuck, eh? BTW, I use FF for most everything but the Microsoft updates, which is when I use IE. (This is why I'm losing my hair...)Did you uninstall SP3 ? ? NOTE: From what i've seen this is only neccessary if SP3 was installed AFTER IE8.No, I already had SP3, then upgraded to IE8. When I decided I didn't like it, and tried to uninstall it or roll back to 7, that's when I got the messages that said in essence: "tough tarts, toots."
