Answer» Whenever I open my Internet Explorer browser, I get the following:
Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons.
It gives me 3 options: (1) manage, (2) disable, or (3) remove the add-ons. I can't seem to get IE working properly and don't know how to solve this problem! I click on "manage" add-ons but from there I have tried everything and can't seem to get my toolbars installed and get the program running the way it should. I keep getting the same prompts over and over.
Please advise...What's your IE version? Have you gone to "enable" Yahoo Toolbar under Add-ons? I'M using IE8.
I can't find yahoo toolbar under add-ons. However, I have a yahoo search BOX that works at the top of my explorer page. Right-click the shortcut you are using to open IE8 and go properties...
Under the target look for -extoff and remove it if it's there: eg. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
That -extoff parameter will force add-ons to be turned off.
If that's not the case, then ONE or more of your add-ons is probably CORRUPTED or causing an issue that it won't start.
In IE8, go under Tools > Manage Add-ons... Under the Show tab select All Add-ons...
Temporary disable any add-ons with (not verified) in the title. Temporary disable java, flash and shockwave plug-ins. Your probably find it's Java causing the issue.
Restart IE8.
If working, re-enable one by one TILL you found the problem plugin and clean re-install that if needed. Brilliant assistance! Thanx. DELETING the extoff did the trick!
