Answer» So me and my bro wanted to play some older computer games. Mind you, we never really played multiplayer anyway so we both don't have too much clue about how that kind of stuff works. He has a Vista Notebook and I am using a Win 7 netbook. We both use the same network via router to connect to the internet.
Now when we try to host a game, the one who joins can't see the sessions. Tried messing around with various settings and IP addresses and Hamachi, but to no avail. Anyone with more experience can give us a few pointers? regards,
If you use it on the same router you don't need to use Hamachi.
And if you are in the LAN and still can't see each other have you tried online? I may not need hamachi, but we still can't see each other , having tried running the game as admin and in compatibility mode (if that changes anything).
Tried online just the same (via ENTERING the IP address, where we have the same as we connect to the same router) with the same results, thing is we can't find ANY way to MAKE it work.So you can enter the IP address to join a game?
if so do you get an error?I can enter a IP Address of the one hosting the game, but it will still display "No sessions found"And you are sure you have connection between the router?
If you have win7 pro/business you can try Start=>cmd=>MSG /server:"PC name" "acc name" "Text" and see if the message get to the other computer (No quotes)Only have win 7 starter, so..
And I'm quite positive we have the connection via the router, because over this network we usually send and share files. The only thing I can think of is to update the game to the latest patch, if that won't work I have no clue why it wont work.Considering the game hasn'T been updated for the last 10 YEARS, I doubt there's still a patch I don't know about
