Solve : Battlefield 1942 MAJOR BUG?

Answer»

I just installed Battlefield 1942 yay, i thought, it would run smoothly and i would be filling people online now full of lead, or the other way around, either way once i started it i noticed something wrong, some of the buttons were missing including the crosshair. Any ideas? Oh yeah, im running on an Intel GMA 950(I THINK, i kinda forgot how to check) basicly, a piece of crap that works for most games. And im not a super tech nerd/geek so lol dont bring anything up that will be hard to understand, including drivers, lol those i just need some help with considering i couldnt find any updates and i have no idea what driver i have.

NOTE: i have figured out how to get drivers and i have gotten new drivers but still no crosshair or buttons, EXCEPT when im engineer class and use the engineer rifle.well, intel's graphics ACCELERATOR is crap for playing games. that is a fact.

well i SUGGEST you can try updating game to latest version through EA's patches if you did not already do that or you can get yourself a new graphics card to replace the intel one.Intel's graphics can usually handle games that are this old and if it worked before it should work again. This is usually a problem that people have when they try to play BF1942 on Windows Vista (I had this problem). Do you have it? When you updated the drivers did you just install the new ones or did you remove the old ones first? ALSO, make sure you have the latest patch for Battlefield:
http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/1942/us/gamedemo.jsp?state=010010yah remove old drivers, install latest drivers, get latest patch and maybe try running game in "run as administrator" mode and use windows xp compatibility mode. That is ... if you are using windows vista.Sorry but did you download 1942... I download a version and was missing some major texture files.... Quote from: Spero-T on October 08, 2007, 04:48:18 AM

Oh yeah, get yourself the game if you want it since it's cheaper now if you want to buy a fresh copy. I downloaded battlefield vietnam from a website and it looked really bad although the whoever posted it said it was the full game with no files missing.

So get yourself the game cd / dvd that works and test it out, now that you have a nonbroken software.i bought it from Wal-Mart cheap. I know Intel GMA sucks BAADDD i cant even play SUPCOM, a game i got for my birthday, stinks that its so hard to change the graphics on your laptop. also, i cant find the past patches. Anyway, i've given up on it, now im attempting something that is a PAIN, modding C&C generals: Zero Hour, now its not installing after i uninstalled it, its saying i dont have enough memory? *censored*, i cleared ALOT of my laptop for it, meh ill keep trying "NEVER GIVE UP".
