Solve : Bookmarks in Firefox?

Answer»

How do I enter a bookmark in Firefox Bookmarks Menu of a text typed in WORD using Windows 8.1?

Many thanks.

JoeBookmarks can only be linked to a web page, not a word document stored on the PC.  If you did create the bookmark, when you clicked it - Firefox would treat it like you are DOWNLOADING the word document from a web page and ask you where you want to save it rather than opening it up directly.

If you give us some more background information about what you are trying to do we may be able to ASSIST more.Paste the word info into your address bar...load the page requested...then bookmark it.Is the OP wanting to bookmark a web site or a FILE on his computer?
You can open a local plain text ( .txt ) file in browsers. such as Firefox and Internet Explorer. Just drag it into the BROWSER and then add it to bookmarks/favorites
Word allows saving FILES as plain text with the .txt extension.Or you can save a Word document in html format with either of the extensions .htm or .html and again drag it into Firefox and then Bookmark This Page. This way preserves the appearance (fonts, etc).

It still remains to be clarified exactly what it is he wants bookmarked...we may never know. Quote from: patio on March 18, 2014, 03:42:42 AM
