Answer»

I am new to this site...I am running XP with 320 mb ram, 75mb hard drive. A couple of days ago I tried to connect to IE and wasn't able to connect. I am able to connect with all my other computers. I was able to go to the command prompt and ping a web site but not on IE.Can you connect using Firefox?I don't have firefox on this computer but I do have yahoo and aim....I can't connect to these either..
Have someone put the installer on a USB drive or CD-ROM and INSTALL it on your computer. Also, if this is broadband, do you have a broadband filter installed?I am using comcast highspeed .......I don't have any filters.....I will have ot try down LOADING firefox from another computer and down load it to problem computer.Firewall connection issue probably WAIT what firewall do you use?

Have you messed with any settings or downloaded anything You may THINK could have caused the issueI 'm not using a firewall. I haven't messed with any settings..Click on Start, click on Run, type in firewall.cpl and click OK. Is Windows Firewall enabled or DISABLED?Quote from: geoff19701 on January 21, 2008, 11:28:11 PM

Does this mean cable or DSL ? ?It's cable, I don't see why it would block aim and yahoo but allow pings as these are all different ports..

Can always try the GET command if you have it in your command prompt to test your connection

"get http://google.com"
