I am new here and looking for some help. I have 2 laptops running off a wireless router. One's fine, the other isn't able to connect to the internet suddenly. It looked like the router address was incorrect so I manually changed that, now the Intenal PROSet/Wirelss says connected, but when I launch IE 7 it says I'm working offline. I have checked in Tools to make sure I'm not supposed to be offline, and have tried a variety of web addresses.

Any ideas?Sorry, also should've mentioned I have no other browsers loaded and connecting with the cable doesn't work either.What OS are we talking about here? Win XP or Vista?Running XP.Go START>RUN, type in:
cmd
Click OK.

In Command Prompt window, type in following commands, and hit Enter after each one:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Ipconfig/release
No operation can be performed on the Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected.

restarted, IE still says working offline. Tried it again with waiting 15 minutes (in case the ipconfig/registerdns needed to process 15 minutes) still no luck.

Start>Run, type in:
cmd
Click OK.

At Command Prompt, type in:
ipconfig /all
Hit Enter.

Copy everything, and paste it back here.Hi - can't copy and paste SINCE I have to go between laptops, so hopefully I get this right.

Physical Address...: 00-E0-B8-C1-C9-E5What router model is it?It's a Netgear wgr614 v6.Right click My Network Places. Go Properties. Right click your wireless network connection, then click Properties
Find the tcp/ip option in the window and DOUBLECLICK it.
From here you can disable dynamic ip addressing and set a static ip address/subnetmask/gateway.

Put in the ip address 192.168.1.105 then 255.255.255.0 for your subnetmask and 192.168.1.1 for the gateway.

Now for your dns settings at the bottom you will need to open your router access panel http://192.168.1.1 from your browser.
Username: admin, password: password
Go to the status page, here it will list a primary dns and secondary dns server. put those addresses into the corresponding entry in your tcp/ip settings...Got through the first part ok, but when I open my explorer browser and try to -

Hmmm...this is definitely Netgear setup page.
Did you try to hook up your laptop straight to the modem?
