Solve : can't delete or forward in Outlook Express?

I have IE7 with Windows XP.  The "buttons" to click on for delete or forward in OE have disappeared. I have the latest updates INSTALLED. Anyone know what to do?

Those references won't help.  They pertain to Outlook 2007, not Outlook Express. 

He must be using OE 6.  That was the end of the line for OE.
