Answer» when i try to download large files they don't complete. i.e: tried downloading a 250MB file but the download ended at 120MB. whats with this? if someone could help. i have comcast high-speed internet. if that helps too...... Well , perhaps you could let us in on what sort of file you are (were ) trying to D/L ? What operating system are you using ? Have you EVER been able to D/L a file of that size before ? Is the site you are trying to D/L from a reputable one ? Are there any limitations as to the amount you can D/L from imposed by your service provided? Perhaps the file you were trying to D/L was incomplete or corrupt.
Let us know and possibly we can assist you .
dl65 the file i'm downloading is a avi file. i'm using windows xp. no i haven't been able to download that size before because it does what i explained before. its reputable site. no limitations from my service provider. think that answers all the questions..... So your d/l always stops at 120 mb or just that one ? Are you trying to D/l a movie by any chance ? Is this file coming from a p2p source by any chance ......?
Do you get any ERROR messages ?
I'm not being NOSEY , but you SEEM to be very tight LIPPED as to what it is your trying to d/l ...........The more info you can provide the easier it is to find a solution.
Have you tried to get the file using a download manager ?
dl65 well it stops at random i guess. yeah its a movie file. no i'm not using a p2p program. no error messages. i was being tight lipped didn't think it mattered. i've downloaded adobe photoshop which is 170MB so i dont get it.The source may be bad. If this only concerns one file, do not bother looking into it.
maybe comcast has pegged your downloads.........over use of bandwith! just a though.no it happens to every large file i download. like when the download stops and the movie file is incomplete i can still watch it just not the whole thing. Are you trying to stream?
The transmission may be timing out.
