Answer»

Hi all new here so hello and thanks for any HELP you may give!!! I have a strange problem and I don't remember changing anything to make it occur. The past two days I have been trying to log on to my hotmail account. I get the sign-in screen (minus a few pics just a red cross in a box) type in my password then nothing just get internet explorer cannot display web page. I am using IE8 but have also tried on Firefox and IE7 it gives the same problem. I have deleted cookies and internet history also checked cookies setting in internet options is on medium. When I try and get on ebay it takes ages to load and then comes up in a very strange way no pictures no logos just text links?? Can anyone please help as I really need to get into my hotmail?!!!!!!!

Windows XP
IE 8
AVG Go to Firefox from your START menu, from there you get two options
1)Mozilla Firefox
2)Mozilla Firefox (safe mode)

Select the second option and try checking your mail.

Also check your firewall settings and SEE if it is blocking that site. Quote from: Ivy on OCTOBER 09, 2008, 05:56:24 AM

Thanks for your reply.  I have IE8 now not Firefox as I tried Firefox and the problem was still the same.  Shall I uninstall IE and install Firefox again so I can start in safe mode?  I have checked firewall settings and all are ok?  Thanks againwhat was that?? Sorry!!!!!!  Changed the post now half of it missing!!!!!Please Do NOT Uninstall Internet Explorer, that will damage your computer.

Do Not Do it!You can use Firefox safe mode Directly by going to Start Menu->All Programs->Mozilla Firefox-> Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Quote from: Ivy on October 09, 2008, 06:49:08 AM

    *  Could the server be experiencing high demand or a TEMPORARY failure?  Try again later.

    *  Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.

    *  Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy?  Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

    *  Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.

Just to update - it has now fixed I did not do anything so I am saying it must not have been a problem with the computer.  Thanks for the helpYou are most welcome.

Glad your problem is solved!
