Solve : Cannot get to http:// sites using Internet Explorer?

Answer»

All of the sudden my internet explorer will not let me go to sites other than those whose address begins with https://

When I go to a http:// site, I get "this page cannot be found" etc, etc.

Please help!Um... you contradict yourself in your post...

what exactly is happening?
Can you give an example of a site you can go to and one you can't?I can go to secure sites (thus the https://) like BANKING and bill paying

I cannot go to regular websites like e-bay, yahoo, etc. (beginning with http://)List all the protection apps you have and when they were updated and ran last...

Also your IE version and OS.Ah sorry, I just REALISED you wrote http:// & httpS:// heh.Quote from: GX44 on June 28, 2007, 01:58:39 AM

You should edit your first post so that readers know exactly what the problm is. What happens when you go to a http://? Does the URL change to something different? Thanks for all the possible help! We got the problem solved. It was with a software designed to speed up our connection. We called our provider twice about the problem and they said nothing.-that it was a problem with our IE. When we figured it out ourselves, they said, oh yes, we have been having trouble with that. Go figure. Again thanks! At least it's solved now

What program was it causing the trouble? They call it Turbo Surf.Connection helpers (most) are the same as RAM accelerators...pretty much worthless.Quote from: patio on July 01, 2007, 08:45:10 AM

That was what I was going for
Only way to improve your connection, REALLY, is to get an upgrade from your ISP
