Hello all first post on this site and I must say I LIKE the way it is setup. Anyway I have a technical issue that I need help with. I am an avid COD player since 2007. I am having serious lag issues within the last month or so. I have called my ISP provider and they tell me my signal is good as well as my IP address. I have a Motorola Surfboard 5150 with hi-speed cable connection no router with Ethernet connection. They also looked at my modem history and said all is normal. I have CHANGED out the Ethernet cords and even tried a usb connection and still while gaming my character freezes and jumps for short periods. I have also bought a pci adapter and plugged it in to one of my pci slots and ran my ethernet to it still same issue. I have AVG 9.0 anti virus and firewall have disabled both still no fix. I have also reformatted windows xp no help though. I also purchased TuneUp Utilities 2009 so all performance and maintenance is at peak as far as I can tell. I keep my gaming rig clean from dust and debris REGULARLY. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to computers this is my first gaming rig a FRIEND help my build in late 2007. So any feedback as to how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciate what cod game?
Well this issue started when I was playing World at War for the most part. I also had Modern Warfare installed and tried playing that with same problem. Now I only have Modern Warfare 2 installed and having same problem.well modern warfare 2 is probably because of the no dedicated server deal. Your not downloading anything are you? Whats your ping?
Ping average is about 65, I am experiencing the connection interruption within Ventrillo as well and my ping holds at about 63 when in vent. So I am thinking it is more than just that......maybe IdK for sure :\
