Solve : cod4?

Answer»

ok, i was trying to install cod4 and we had apower surge and it was almost finished. i turn my comp on, and try to play it and it givesme the option toplay and it gives me an error.
so i hit the uninstall option and it gives me another error.
it wont let me uninstall play singleplayer ormultiplayer.
any hints as to uninstalling it?
oh, and i tried finding the call of duty 4 folder and it is nowhere to be found.Assuming you're using windows xp or windows vista .... use system restore to restore just before CO4 was installed and reinstall it again and be sure you're computer won't have that power surge problem.well, the thing is, this was a bit ago and i dont know what day...
i just recently thought i want to play that and tried to install it.i set the system restore back to march and still nothing...
i know for a fact that this happened in april...Quote

and it givesme the option toplay

how do you have the option to play it if you cant FIND the folder? is there a desktop icon that you clicked on?Most likely, it is LOOKING at the registry settings for whether or not the game is installed. These need to be removed.

Give me a few minutes and let me see if I can figure this out.

-=update=-
1) Open the registry editor: Start -> RUN -> regedit

2) Locate the following registry folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Activision/Call of Duty 4

3) Delete the "Call of Duty 4" registry folder

4) Delete the directory where you installed COD4, DEFAULT location is C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 unless you changed this during installation.

Try reinstalling now, should work.it works!
