Not quite sure about which one to get, are you after a desktop or laptop? And what are you going to use it for, is this to replace your old gaming desktop you wanted advice with upgrading?
Also, whereabouts are you?

CPU and PC are not the same.
Niether of what u have could be of use of gaming today.Laptops can be better than desktops, but not usually
A desktop is normally cheaper for the same or better specification, are much more upgradeable, and will last longer
Much better for gamers
If you want good value, consider building your own
What do you really want from your computer?I would recommend building a PC yourself and installing Linux (unless you're a gamer). I saved about $500 on a PC by building it and not buying my software*. PM me if you want a tutorial on how to do this. When I say "Not buying my software" I mean GPL/GNU software: Linux.Stay away from Acer laptops. I see a LOT of them with problems. If you want the better ones, I suggest Toshiba, Sony, or IBM/Lenovo.

Flamewhat about a MacBook? or is "Mac" considered a swear WORD?Only in my book

FlameWhen you are speaking of laptops, few really "MAKE" their own. They are made bya FEW manufacturers and then branded with whatever company is actually selling them. Sony, Toshiba, etc. do not exclusively make their own, so brand loyalty is a myth. Acer makes a LOT of machines worldwide. Have a READ:
