Answer» Hello and thank you for looking at my dumb question.
Does IE open browser tabs within 1 window, and if so, what do I need to check to make it happen for me please?
Told you it was a dumb question.
I have IE 6 on this computer... and before you go off at me and tell me that IE 9 is available, I dont know if I update to 9, whether the copying of these webinars will continue the same way as I have been successfully do it with IE 6.
I have never used IE for any length of time, and recently have had cause to use it ALL the time for this particular website. I have looked on all the Tags but I dont see anything relating to opening a new tab anywhere?
If updating to IE 9 will do the same job for me then I'll do that. I suppose I can always delete 9 and reinstall 6. Thank you for helping.I believe IE introduced tabs with version 7. The newest version is 8.Surely, your webinars will work with a post-6 versions of IE. If not, the webinar provider is way behind the times. IE6 is fading into oblivion, as it should.Even MS has given up on IE6.
http://bink.nu/news/microsoft-sends-flowers-to-internet-explorer-6-funeral.aspxIf you want to stay with IE6, download and install the Yahoo Toolbar and you will have tabbed browsing. You MAY have to enable it in the toolbar options. I use it on a couple old computers.Hi and thanks for your replies Allan and soybean. I know its an embarrassing question to even ask.
I understand what you are saying there. Its not the provider, more the user.
I am the kind of guy that doesn't like changing stuff just because they make a new one.
The other part is, I don't and haven't used IE for... well, as long as IE6 was launched I suppose. So I really know NOTHING about IE. Now that I know this much about it though, I might upgrade to the latest version.
Thank you too Computer_Commando and rthompson80819, I think the upgrade to the latest version will suffice, although the yahoo toolbar might have some features that I might find useful.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer my silly question. ImnoGuru. You could always use Mozilla Firefox and use the IEtab plugin, that way you get all the goodies of Firefox with IE functionality. Hi talldude123. Now that's an interesting concept.
I wasn't aware F/F had an IE tab, but then again they have so many add-ons its really hard to find all the ones you want to use. Then again, you have to know what there is out there to use first.
A long story told short, if you like talldude123, I signed up with a company that provide webinars and as a bonus they GIVE me a web-site per module I purchase.
The website builder doesn't work in F/F and only works in IE, thus I start to use this computer that has IE 6

So its worth a try, to get that addon and see if the website builder works in F/F then. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Thanks for the clue talldude123. or if you want to use google chrome,
get the ChromePlus version. You get the stuff that Chrome offers, plus a built in IE Tab and then some more additional other features that normal Chrome doesn't offer. Thanks 2x3i5x for your suggestion as well.
I downloaded the IE for Firefox AND updated to IE 8 on that machine.
As it turns out the update did well, and the IE for F/Fox did the job as well. So at least I can edit my webpage now.
It MUST be just something in their website or the website builder software that causes it to misfire on F/F. I dont know much about how all the workings of building the programs goes.
I loaded Opera as well, (sometimes they just take a lot of learning though) so I stopped with something that works for now and is satisfactory for my level of knowledge. Learning learning learning... just forever learning new stuff... Sometimes I think my head is going to explode trying to absorb all this stuff.
I only have two months left till the end of the commitment and I want to get what I can from the site before my contract expires. If I can cope with another something new I'll try your suggestion. Thanks ImnoGuru
