This *censored* Linux THING won't download in firefox or IE. My internet works fine and everything else downloads perfectly.
I have tried many downloading from different websites. In Firefox I get a message saying that the server is taking too long to respond, or on other websites a dialog box comes up saying that the file cannot be found (doesn't specify whick one) or i get something like error 550 i think. in IE it just gives the usual "page cannot be found" crap. i have a DSL connection through a US Robotics router.


Oh and i have Spyware Doctor, AVG Antivirus free, Norton Antivirus,Ad-Aware, and Zone Alarm firewall. I have tried disableing all those but that didn't helpAnd if you are having such big problems with DOS what are you going to do with Linux?  

I hope this is not for that poor 16 meg. RAM machine.  it was for that poor 16 meg ram machine but i don't need it anymore. I got windows to work on it again. thnx anyway(oh and btw i'm typing this on that poor 16 meg ram machine....ROFL)Give Linux a try sometime    YOu don't have to install it, you can use the live CD version. I'm going to give it a shot sometime myself. Who knows, you MIGHT like it  

FlameDepending on your processor, you can get a 256 MB memory chip from $30-$80 US currency. Just an idea that you'll NEVER regret...Make sure your computer can handle more though. If you don't...  :-/

FlameYeah, that's why you should check the specs. I'm at Best Buy's site now and looking at prices, and they say something like

Operates at a speed of 333MHz

or

Operates at a speed of 400MHz

Make sure your processor runs at at least that speed, and you'll be all set. Quote
