Solve : Dual-Boot Debian problems?

Answer»

}{i everyone!

I need a little help. I am TRYING to create a dual boot box with 98se and Debian. I have Windows on my primary HDD and Debian on my slave. I followed the instructions here: http://www.aboutdebian.com/dualboot.htm

but when I re-boot I get the message:

"GRUB loading stage1.5.

GRUB loading please wait..."

but it never does. it goes to looking at the floppy drive (The light on the floppy lights up) but then it just stops. the light on the floppy is on forever and I have to HIT the resest button on the case.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a floppy in there? Did you do a net install or from a series of CD's. Did you put Grub in the MBR on the primary drive.? That's where it should go.No, there is no floppy in the drive. I installed Debian from the first CD which I downloaded off the net. As for where GRUB was put I am not sure. It asked if I wanted to install the GRUB boot manager because it DETECTED win 98 on my system. I told it yes, install GRUB and it installed. I t never asked me where to put it.I think you should get a screen about where you want to put it. I would reload and be watching for that. Choose the MBR of the first hard drive.
