There are people who secure their Windows and don't get viruses. It is funny though to see windows virus sites using Linux though! There was one time that I using my computer with Ubuntu and I purposely went to this virus site. It had this fake windows XP themed screen and a flashing messages about something being critically wrong with my PC and telling me to "click here". It was so funny, I just laughed my head off.

The registry only stores data... *NIX allows anything to run that has the execution bit set or starts with a shebang. This doesn't really do anything on either system. The OS is designed to run other programs.

I think the real issue is how easily you can get INFECTED in the browser. And I'm talking Internet Explorer, Firefox, CHROME, etc..

Haha, agreed!!!

All OSes can get viruses. It is true that there are less for Linux but it is possible you could get one. A LOT of it depends on what you do with your OS. There are people who secure their Windows and don't get viruses.
